Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Eagle Legend LTD ("we", "us", "our") handles personal data when you use eaglelegend.com (the "Site"), our instant-play HTML5 arcade. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

1. Who we are

Eagle Legend LTD is the data controller for the Site. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17512456.

2. The short version

• You do not need an account to play, and we do not ask for your name, email address or password.
• Google Analytics only runs if you click Accept on our cookie banner. If you do nothing or click Reject, it does not load.
• Your game progress and preferences are saved in your own browser and are never sent to us.
• We do not currently show advertising on the Site, and we do not sell your data.

3. What data we process

Because there are no accounts, we process very little personal data. Some of what we do process, such as your IP address, device and browser details, and online identifiers, does not reveal who you are on its own. It is still treated as personal data under UK GDPR. It is pseudonymised, not anonymised, because it could be linked back to you with other information.

• Technical and log data: when you visit, your browser automatically sends information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you request and the time of your visit. Our hosting providers (see section 7) may record this in server logs.
• Analytics data (only with your consent): if you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 collects data about how you use the Site, such as pages and games viewed, time on page, approximate location (derived from your IP address), device and browser details, and a random identifier stored in a cookie.
• Data you send us: if you email us or use the Report Game feature, we receive your email address (if you email us) and whatever you choose to tell us.

4. Data stored only on your device

The Site uses your browser's local storage to remember your site preferences, recently played games, favourites, XP and streaks. It also creates eagle_player_id, a random gameplay identifier stored locally so these features work. This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. It is essential or functional storage that makes the features you use work, so we do not ask for consent for it.

You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for eaglelegend.com. This will reset your progress, favourites and preferences.

5. Why we use your data and our lawful bases

• Analytics: consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and PECR regulation 6). We use Google Analytics to understand which games and pages are popular so we can improve the Site. It only runs after you click Accept, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
• Running and securing the Site: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). We and our hosting providers process technical and log data to deliver pages and games, keep the Site working, and prevent abuse, fraud and security incidents. We have considered this and believe it is necessary and does not override your rights.
• Answering your messages and reports: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). We use what you send us to reply to you and to investigate reported games.
• Legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)), where we need to keep or disclose information to comply with the law.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

When you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. We use Google Consent Mode v2 with all consent types set to denied by default, and advertising signals turned off. The Google Analytics tag (measurement ID G-W6KD3YVMWE) is only loaded after you click Accept.

Your choice is saved for 6 months. You can change or withdraw it at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. If you reject or withdraw consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _gid) that we can access.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential storage may stop parts of the Site from working.

7. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with these service providers:

• Google (Blogger): the Site is hosted on Blogger, which processes technical data to serve pages and sets its own cookies as host. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics: only if you accept analytics cookies. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
• GitHub (GitHub Pages): some games are hosted by us on GitHub Pages (eaglelegendltd.github.io). Like any web host, GitHub may log the IP addresses of visitors for security and to run the service. See GitHub's Privacy Statement.
• Authorities: where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

8. Third-party games

Some games on the Site are embedded from third-party platforms, such as iDev.Games. When you play an embedded game, it loads from that platform's servers, which may receive your IP address and device data and may set their own cookies or use local storage. The platform is responsible for this, and its own privacy policy applies. We do not control the content or data practices of third-party games.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to harmful, offensive or inappropriate content. If you find a game that breaks these standards, please use the Report Game button on the game page or email support@eaglelegend.com. We will review it promptly and remove it if needed.

9. Our shop

Our shop at store.eaglelegend.com is run separately and has its own privacy policy, which covers any orders, payments and account details you give there. Please read that policy before you buy anything.

10. International transfers

Google and GitHub may process data in the United States. Where data leaves the UK, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified) or by the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. How long we keep data

• Google Analytics data: [14 months, check GA setting], after which Google deletes user-level data.
• Your cookie choice (el_consent): 6 months, after which we ask you again.
• Local storage data: stays on your device until you clear it. We never hold a copy.
• Hosting logs: kept by Google (Blogger) and GitHub according to their own retention policies.
• Emails and reports: only as long as we need them to deal with your message or report, and to keep a record of how we handled it.

12. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
• Erasure: ask us to delete your data.
• Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data.
• Objection: object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests.
• Portability: receive data you gave us in a portable format, or have it sent to another organisation.
• Withdraw consent: withdraw your analytics consent at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. This does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew.

To use any of these rights, email support@eaglelegend.com. We will reply within one month. If a request is complex, we may extend this by up to two more months and will tell you why. Because we do not have accounts, we may need some details from you (such as your device or browser) to find any data relating to you. Data stored only in your browser is under your control, and you can view or delete it yourself.

13. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

14. Children

The Site is for a general audience. We do not ask for or knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add new features or services. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, such as introducing advertising or new types of cookies, we will tell you on the Site and ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
